First Post!

So I've been here for a week and so far, so good! Finally found an apartment to stay in except we can't move in until Tuesday. I've already been to the beach (not on the coast though, unfortunately), gotten sunburned (I currently have a ridiculous shorts tan), and been to a bar. Other than that it's been a lot of exploring the city and figuring out public transport. Looking at houses and apartments was a little nerve wrecking when you have no idea where you are and you're sweating so much you need a shower every ten minutes. Kind of makes me miss the snow (not really though). Hopefully soon I'll make it out to the zoo to see some Australian wildlife! All I've seen so far is millions of birds who make noise around the clock, some ridiculously big bats, a few lizards and toads, and some scary looking spiders. I swear something in this country is going to kill me whether it's the animals since everything is poisonous or more likely I'll just get hit by a car since I never look the right direction.
